So, you're brand new to the board and your character just got approved. Welcome and congrats! Now you're scanning the boards, trying to find that perfect place to introduce your character to the RP. Well, here's just a word of advice for you. There are usually quite a few threads already posted, just sitting there waiting for replies. If you're looking to start RPing quick, it's recommended that you join one of these, if any of them would fit. So maybe just take a look for any open threads, before starting a new one.
If there aren't any available, then by all means, feel free to start your own thread. Take one thing into consideration, though. Think about which places are more likely to get replies. There are some boards where, if you post your character there, chances are slim that they'll receive a reply anytime in the near future. What places are these? Well, let's list a couple examples. There's the church, for one. Many characters don't really visit often, so you most likely won't be getting a reply there. Same goes for the places that are way out in the middle of nowhere, like out in the woods or up on the mountain. If you want replies, you must must must think about how easy and likely it is for other characters to be in that same area. Another example is the Institute dorms. Yes, that may sound like an active place, but really.. you aren't likely to get many replies there. Most of the people that post on that board already have plots going on, so most unplanned, open threads there won't get responses. Off the wall places such as the basement probably won't be seeing many replies, either.
Of course, no one's stopping you from posting in these places. This topic is just something that we've noticed on SC, and we felt like giving the new members a heads up.
Enjoy the site!
