The Creatures. What the healthy call the people who have been infected. They are basically zombies. They don't exactly crave human flesh/brains, but their brains are wired to attack anything that moves; and 99.9% of the time humans are the ones that catch their eye.
The Sickness started out when astronauts sent to Jupiter came back sick. Some sort of unknown 'rabies'-like disease that slowly ate away at the mens' minds before they were zombie-like; rotting flesh and everything with white eyes. They passed on the disease through scratches and bites and before we knew it, the Sickness had hit a world-wide status and there were barely any healthy people left. So, what was left of the military set up base to protect those who could get there.
